Chocolate has been around for thousands of years in one form or another. Yet it's only been in the last 100 or so years that it's become a global powerhouse, with companies launching new types of chocolate every few years. The history of chocolate, and its creation from the beans of the cacao tree, can be traced to the ancient Maya, and even earlier to the ancient Olmecs of southern Mexico.
